Akta-Vite Campfires Against Cancer has had the most amazing time working with the CMAA. The Australian Country Music Industry has provided an amazing level of support, which started back in 2002 when multi award winning producer, Mr Garth Porter compiled the brilliant new Album - Trail of Dreams.
Garth met Dan Phegan at the 2001 Tamworth Country Music Festival via mutual friend Travis Sinclair. After hearing what ‘Campfires’ was all about and what a truly Australian adventure Dan and the team were taking on, Garth offered to compile this album.
After the initial details were worked out Garth brought Sara Storer and Martin Oakes onto the project and together and the three of them wrote the title track ‘Trail of Dreams’ which has gone onto being a hit on the CMAA Charts. Trail of Dream is a brilliant song, which depicts exactly what we are doing and the emotions that go with it. At the same time as writing the title track, Garth approached the ‘cream of the country’ music and was delighted with the speed each artist offered a song to the cause.
On Saturday, 5th April 2003, The Albury Racecourse will host a Huge Country Music Extravaganza.
Event Manager, Mr Alwyn Brunton says, “All artists appearing have donated their time to play and is a measure of support that the Country Music Industry has given to this project”. Many of the artists have also donated a track to the highly successful “Trail of Dreams” CD on sale nationally.
