The Albury Convention Centre was the setting for this night of nights on the 4th of May 2002. All tickets were sold and the scene was set of a fantastic night of good food, good music and great company.
This was the official Albury Wodonga farewell for the riders before they embark on their epic journey across Australia. Attending the nights festivities were the Sponsors and Supporters of Akta-Vite Campfires Against Cancer as well as many local dignitaries.

The success of the night can be credited firstly too these three ladies who worked tirelessly to organise the whole event. They applied their skills in catering and organising to ensure the entire evening went off without a hitch. Tables were superbly decorated and the meals were of the highest standard.

The Convention Centre was filled to capacity and was a sea of people all enjoying the music and food. Some people arrived hoping to buy tickets at the door but unfortunately they had to be turned away due to all tickets being sold.

Good conversation and having fun was the order of the day, pictured above are just some of the people taking advantage of the party mood.

With the official side of the proceedings completed and the meals done it was time for the auction. The auction included some paintings by local artists and limited edition prints. As well there were some holidays at Falls Creek and a Magnum of Champaign.
The auction was conducted by Warwick Phegan and led to some very competitive bidding by guests.

We would like to thank Kevin Best, Moegel Ski Hire and the Springdale Heights Tavern for their generous dontations to the auction. And also the people who bought the auction items.

What party would be complete without dancing. As pictured here there is not a lot of room left on the dance floor.

All in all it was a great night out and a great send off for the Akta-Vite Campfires Against Cancer crew.
