Alwyn (Bruno) Brunton. – The nickname occurred day one in the Army

My association with the Phegan family began in the late 1980’s. Every Friday night Phegans Phriday Night Phrolics was an opportunity for people of any musical persuasion to “jam” and “unwind” after the end of a busy week.

It was during this time that I taught Danny some guitar licks and chords. This was way back before his voice had broken. In the mid eighties Danny needed a duo partner to fill in for a little while so I agreed to come out of retirement. Our duo the “Two Tones” was based on songs from the era of two tone cars and two tone shoes. Ten years we have now played together as a duo.

I have enjoyed playing in a few different bands – never anything serious. My first musical escapade was at the Auburn RSL on ANZAC day 1973 and it was with Fred Little (Jimmy’s Brother). I worked with Fred at Clyburn railway workshops, Sydney. I enjoy playing but don’t enjoy arriving home after a long gig when to sun has already risen – don’t know if I am getting old or wise.

I live near Wodonga and work at my own business as a training consultant. I also undertake engineering work as required and when available.

It is indeed a privilege to be asked to co-ordinate this event. Being one of the major fund raising events on this epic journey and being the homecoming event we are looking forward to seeing you there.
