Jenny Boardman grew up in Mansfield, Victoria. She was raised with horses and did everything with them from Show Jumping to Eventing to Campdrafting to Rodeo type activities. She is very versatile with her training. Jenny spent some time after school travelling and working around New Zealand before coming back to her home town to discover the Man from Snowy River movie being filmed there. She assisted with the horses over a three week period. While Jenny was working on the movie she met Alby Mangels. Alby was filiming his Second World Safari film. After seeing her work with the horses he asked Jenny to handle the horses for him on the second film. She travelled around Australia handling the distribution and promotion of the World Safari Films 1, 2 for a period of 10 years before moving to the Gold Coast. After some time in QLD she decided to head home to her family’s home Chancoban and was asked to be the Co-ordinator for the Man from Snowy River Challenge. This event is a very special and unique horse event ran during the Annual Festival. Jenny became the Co-ordinator for the first 3 years of its life (1995 to 1997) The event has been running for seven years now. For family reasons Jenny then decided to head back to Queensland and worked in various Office Management roles until deciding to embark on a 4WD Trip around Australia with her partner. We are very fortunate to have Jenny join the Campfires team as she has a lot of experience with the Media and an affinity with Rural Communities and a great ability to get thing done on the ground. Jenny’s role will be to go ahead of the group and meet up with our “Network” of people in each town. She will make sure everything is organised for the Teams arrival. Jenny will make sure the campsite is ready and all Functions/Events planned during their stay are organised and running smoothly. She will have constant contact with the Media team back in Melbourne to keep abreast of developments. Jenny will follow up with the Media already organised via the Melbourne office and make sure they have everything they need to cover the teams arrival in each town along the route. Jenny and her partner will be joining the ride from Mt Isa onwards. |
