Brendon was born in Bundaberg and grew up in the small south-west Queensland town of Roma. He'd been influenced by musical parents but it wasn't until he went to university in Toowoomba that he discovered and developed his love for writing and performing. He hit the road with his brothers Nathan and Jared and the rest, as they say, is history.

The band had a unique quality, that rare bond which exists between siblings. It allowed Brendon to hone his talents in the best way possible in front of a live audience.

When you see or hear Brendon you recognise a rare ability to draw an audience into the world of his songs. Mostly his, but in the best minstrel tradition, sometimes a borrowed gem from other great writers.

At twenty four, Brendon is a relative newcomer to the Australian music scene.  Yet in a short time, he has gained the respect of his peers and has been the recipient of an impressive list of awards and achievements…

January 98 - Graduated from the College of Country Music
December 98 - Wins Queensland's Champion of Champions talent search
January 99 - Wins Toyota Star Maker (following in the footsteps of Gina Jeffreys, Lee Kernaghan, Keith Urban, James Blundell ..)
May 99 - Named Trans Tasman Entertainer of the Year at Norfolk Island Festival
Sept 99 - Independent Heritage Song of the Year at Mildura Festival
·January 00 - Wins Golden Guitar for Best New Talent at the Toyota
Australian Country Music Awards (having been a Top 5 finalist in no less than five categories in his first Awards!)
·Received New Songwriter of the Year Award at Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards
·January 2001 – Receives ‘Heritage Song of the Year’ for ‘Last of the Big Gun Drovers’ at the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards
·January 2001 – Wins ‘Heritage Song of the Year’ Golden Guitar for ‘Last of the Big Gun Drovers’.

The song mostly responsible for all this was Brendon’s beautiful ballad 'Rose and Rodeo'. It became the Star Maker quest's highest-ever charting single and country's second biggest hit of 1999. But of course it's never down to just one song. All of these achievements were earned as a result of professional dedication and many, many hard road miles mostly playing in the family band.

And what of family and history? Nothing remarkable really, a very typical Australian story.
